Happy Sunday peeps! I hope you’ve all had a fantastic weekend! Our’s has been great! Friday we had friends over to our house for the first time and it was so fun to host! We had a little game night and just hung out, chatted, and laughed a lot. 🙂 Yesterday we went to the gym and then just took it easy for the rest of the day. It was a super rainy day so it was a great day to relax. Today we’re heading into Philly for a dentist appoint (I know, the dentist on a Sunday, haha) and are going to take advantage of being in the city and try to shoot a few looks afterward! 🙂
Anyways, today I’m comin’ atcha with another 3 ways to wear post and, this time, I’m going to be styling a red trench coat 3 different ways for you guys. Chicwish sent me this absolutely beautiful red trench coat for fall and I was trying to come up with a fun way to style it for you guys and honestly just couldn’t decide. SO, I turned it into an impromptu 3 ways to wear post! 🙂 It’s a statement item that’s also classic so it actually seemed like a piece worthy of showing off its versatility. 😉 I feel like this coat has endless possibilities! But for today, here are the 3 ways I’ve styled this red trench coat so far!
Red Trench Coat: Look 1 – Classic
I was going for a classic feel with this first look because a trench coat (red or not) is such a classic piece. This is obviously no ordinary trench coat though. 😉 To bring out the classic side of this red trench coat, I wore it with a timeless and fitted grey mock neck sweater and a black and white plaid wrap skirt. I felt like the skirt was a great compliment for the coat because it’s a classic style with a modern twist.
I kept things simple and chic by wearing a pair of sheer black tights and black leather booties and I carried my black quilted bag to keep things nice and dressy, too. This is a great look for the office or a lunch meeting, especially with there being no visible accessories.
Red Trench Coat: Look 2 – Casual
You guys know I love my casual style so I wanted to style the red trench coat in a more laid back way for ya too. Again, this is such a bold piece on its own that you really don’t need to go crazy with the rest of the outfit so I wore it with a simple slouchy ivory turtleneck and a pair of straight leg jeans. I paired it with my ivory booties, a light beige belt, an ivory bag, and ivory earrings to obviously keep a theme going. It’s a simple yet stylish outfit on its own but add the red trench and BUH BAM!
Red Trench Coat: Look 3 – Modern
RED TRENCH COAT (c/o Chicwish) | SWEATER, similar here, here, and here (most similar and less than $50!) | PANTS, almost identical here (only $13!) | SHOES (mine are from last year and these are the updated version!) | BAG (only $17.50, exact color sold out), similar here (only $17.50) | EARRINGS (c/o of Rocksbox)
For this last look, I went with something a little more modern and trendy by wearing a pair of black and white striped wide leg cropped pants. These pants are actually a pair that I got in the summer and I love that I was able to bring them into my fall and winter wardrobe too. You guys know I love mixing black and brown, so I figured I would mix black and taupe for something a little more subtle given the fact that the trench coat was such a bold color. So I wore a black ribbed mock neck sweater with taupe booties and a small taupe cross body bag. And hoops are all the rage right now (and I am here for it) so I wore a pair of gold hoops to finish off the fun look!
Alrighty you guys, there are your ways to style a red trench coat! Which one is your favorite? And how would you go about styling it? I can’t wait to come up with some more fun combos! Hope you enjoyed this 3 ways to wear post and thanks for reading! 🙂
