Happy happy 4th of July gang! I hope that everyone has some fun plans for the day. Charlie and I are suuuper happy to be at the beach with my side of the family. We haven’t seen them in months and we were in desperate need of a vacation so it’s a double win for us! Do you use the holiday as a chance to do a little traveling too?
If you’re like me and don’t like getting overly festive for holidays, then today’s post is for you because I’m sharing a few simple tips for a really last minute (like day of last minute, ha!) 4th of July outfit that isn’t over the top!
If you’re scrambling around last minute to put together a fun and festive 4th of July outfit that’s not over the top for today, I’ve got a few tips that will hopefully help make things easier for you!
Keep it simple
Don’t over think it. The whole point is to not go overboard so keep things simple with a coordinated outfit that could be worn any other day of the year. A simple top, bottom and a comfy pair of shoes are perfect for the occasion!
Don’t worry about wearing all 3 colors
This falls in line with keeping it simple but if you can’t seem to get all 3 colors (red, white and blue) in the outfit, it’s okay. Picking 2 of 3 will still get the job done and, more than likely, will aid in keeping things from being over the top. I kept it to just red and white and it still serves its purpose, especially with the stripes.
Denim can count as blue
If you do want to wear all 3 colors or if blue is one of 2 that you choose, denim can count as your blue! You don’t have to wear a royal blue pair of pants for it to count.
Spice it up in other ways
While you want to keep it simple and not overthink your outfit, you can still spice it up in other ways to keep things festive. A fun straw hat just gives it that summery July taste. You can also go for a fun pattern or print. I went with classic stripes but if you have a star print top, then consider yourself 4th of July red-dy. Get it? Red…dy. See what I did there? 😛
So there are 4 really simple tips to hopefully make your outfit planning a heck of a lot easier today! I hope you all look festive and stylish and have a wonderful holiday spent with loved ones! And maybe a good burger and some fireworks to top things off! 😉 Thanks for reading today you guys!
