Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful long weekend filled with loved ones and fun. Charlie and I are sadly heading back to reality today but we had an awesome week at the beach with my side of the family. And it wasn’t too awful saying goodbye because we’ll get to see them and Charlie’s side of the family again in 3 weeks! Summer is the best because we get to see our families a lot more whereas the rest of the year we typically go months between visits. Did you get to spend some time with your loved ones this past week? If so, I hope it was wonderful!
Black is a classic, easy, go-to color that you can wear all year round. But sometimes it might feel a little bit more challenging in the summer months because we tend to lean towards lighter colors during that time. So today I’m sharing 5 tips for how you can wear black in summer!
Tip 1: Wear “Smaller” Clothes
I love a good all black outfit, but if you’re going for all black in summer you’ll really want to make sure that you’re wearing “smaller” clothes. What I mean by smaller is opting for a tank top instead of something with sleeves or going for shorts or a miniskirt instead of jeans.
Tip 2: Pair it with a Lighter Color
If you end up wearing more “full coverage” clothing, just pair it with a lighter color. This one is super simple! 😉
Tip 3: Add a Pop of Color
If you’re still wanting to go for more of an all black feel, in lieu of stying it with a a lighter color, you could simply add a fun pop of color somewhere. You could wear blue earrings, yellow shoes, carry a pink bag… you get the point!
Tip 4: Choose a Summery Print
Choose black pieces that have a summery print like palm leaves, lemons or floral print. With my black summer outfit I wore a black mini dress that had a floral print that lightened things up a bit and kept it feeling “in season” if you will. If this had been a solid black dress it probably would have felt more like a summer-to-fall-transitional outfit.
Tip 5: Wear it with Summery Accessories and Accents
The last easy tip for wearing black in summer is to wear it with summery accessories and accents like sandals, a straw bag or a straw hat.
So there ya have it, 5 super easy tips for wearing black in summer! I wear black all year so summer is no exception. What are some ways you like to incorporate black into your summer wardrobe?
