Good morning and happy Tuesday you guys! I asked a while back if you guys would be interested in seeing a makeup tutorial and you seemed excited about it, but you guys definitely said you wanted more beauty and such in the survey from last week, so I’m just gonna go ahead and dive right in!
My makeup regimen has been a variation of this routine (give or take a step or two or occasionally switching out a brand) for at least five years. I just really like to keep it simple, quick, and natural looking when it comes to my makeup. Makeup just isn’t my favorite thing. I don’t have a hatred for it or anything, I just don’t like spending a lot of time on it and I don’t like to feel (or look) like I have mounds of cake on my face. And I figured surely there are other ladies out there who feel the same way, so why not share my quick and easy 7 minute foundation-free makeup routine in hopes that it’ll help a fellow beauty amateur out!
I filmed my routine for you (and I’m clearly still a total newbie because every time I tried to show the product it was out focus, hahaha) but I also wrote it out for you. A lot of times I do better with written instructions, so I’m just trying to appeal to all learning types, haha. But without further adieu, I present to you…
My 7 minute foundation-free makeup routine
Tinted Moisturizer: Spread a small amount all over face and down onto neck.
Tinted Moisturizer: Bareminerals-Complexion Rescue (Shade: Vanilla 02)
Concealer: Dab 3 small dots under eyes and blend in with finger (or beauty blender). Dab a very small amount onto any blemishes or imperfections and blend in.
Concealer: Sephora-Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer (Shade: 03 fondant)
Eyeliner: Smudge eyeliner into bottom lashes (waterline). Don’t go too heavy to avoid a really harsh or dramatic eye. (Thick eyeliner doesn’t typically look good on bottom lashes unless you’re doing dramatic eyeshadow.)
Eyeliner: MAC-Technakohl Liner (Color: Broque)
Sheer Perfecting Powder: Cover your brush with the powder and pat or dab it onto your face and neck. Be careful not to rub it (especially under eyes) as it will leave lines or mess up your liquid makeup underneath.
Sheer Perfecting Powder: Laura Mercier-Candleglow Sheer Perfection Powder (Shade: Light to Medium) (also available here)
Illuminator: Suck your cheeks in to make a fishy-face and blend this in with a brush from the top of your cheekbone by your hair line to just before the apple of your cheek.
Illuminator: Laura Mercier-Baked Blush Illumine (Color: Rosé)
Blush: Use a smaller blush brush to dab this lightly on the apples of your cheeks. Blend it in with your perfecting powder brush if it’s too heavy.
Blush: Laura Mercier-Second Skin Cheek Colour (Color: Spiced Cider) (also available here)
Setting Spray: Close your eyes, purse your lips, and spray once onto face. This just helps your makeup last longer and look slightly less matte.
Setting Spray: Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater
Mascara Primer: Apply this just like you would mascara. I prefer to do one eye at a time (i.e. primer on one eye followed by mascara, and then primer on the next eye).
Mascara Primer: Dior-Diorshow Maximizer 3D Triple Volume Pumping Lash Primer (also available here)
Mascara: Start by coating from the middle of your lashes and then wiggle out from your roots. This helps you from getting too clumped up around the roots of your lashes.
Mascara: Dior-Diorshow Mascara (Color: Brown 698) (also available here)
Lipstick: Bareminerals: GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lipcolor (color: Bo$$)
Well guys, that’s it! My easy peasy makeup 7 minute foundation-free makeup routine. I hope you enjoyed it and learned some quick tips! Let me know your thoughts on it! Like I said, I’m not a beauty guru so I’m not gonna be cranking out new beauty tutorials on the reg for ya, but if you did like it, I’d be happy to show you what I do for blog shoots and special occasions! It’s literally the same thing with 3 small added steps… and still no eyeshadow… I’m tellin’ ya I just like to keep it simple, haha.
Thank you SO much for watching and reading! See ya Thursday!
