Happy Sunday everyone! How has everyone’s weekend been? My mom headed back to North Carolina on Friday morning after being in Pennsylvania for almost 3 weeks! So, Charlie and I are having a mostly quiet weekend at home, which is always nice. We tried a new, super yummy (and healthy!) recipe on Friday night—chicken Philly pizza with homemade dough and all! And yesterday evening we ventured into the city for dinner to celebrate a friend’s birthday!
Speaking of birthdays, my mom made it home just in time for the April birthdays in the family! My nephew’s birthday was yesterday (he’s 18 now…that makes me feel old, oh my gosh!) and my dad’s birthday is today! So, just a quick birthday shout out to those two wonderful fellas. Love them, miss them, and sending birthday wishes down the east coast to them!
If you guys know me (or at least have caught on), I don’t do a ton of color. My idea of color is a really soft or subdued pallet (think blush and army green). Charlie and my mom have both always told me that I need to wear more color, so I’m going to make that a goal of mine for the spring and summer! No better time, right?
This top was such an easy way to add a fun pop of color to my wardrobe because it’s just so irresistible! And guys, it comes in white and black too… but I got it in red! See, already achieving goals! Ha! I’m weirdly picky about cold shoulder tops, so when I find one that I love, I go for it! And I adore this one! The ruffle sleeves make it so girly and the long slits give it a little spice! It’s also a perfect piece for a day to night look!
I styled the top with all black. Red and black is always a great, bold combo. I wore my favorite black skinnies with ripped knees and some super fun strappy black heels! Seriously, how great are these shoes? They also come in teal and yellow and I’m really tempted to get a second pair in one of those colors for the summer! Which color do you guys think I should get?
Okay wait, let’s get back on topic here. My bad. I topped the look off with a classic floppy hat and a cute little bracelet! The hat is a great way to soften the look for daytime. Heading out for a nice dinner later, though? Lose the hat, toss your hair in a soft low bun, and add a great pair of statement earrings! I picked my bracelet up at a cute boutique when I was in Belgium a couple of years ago, but I linked up a similar style for you guys! I always love special pieces like that, don’t you?
Do you guys like color or do you prefer a more subdued pallet like me? I’m excited to brighten up my wardrobe a bit this year! You guys will have to let me know what you think! And speaking of, I want to know what you all are wanting to see this spring and summer! Do we want to keep the outfit posts rolling in? Would you be interested in how to style one piece in different ways? Seriously, tell me what it is you guys want and I’ll aim to please! 🙂
