Happy happy Thursday everybody! How’s everyone’s week been? I’ve been grinding away at my e-courses this week and trying to learn all kinds of new things! 🙂 I always think that if you stop learning, you stop growing. I’ve also hit the gym everyday so far this week which has been a great feeling. Anywho, before we dive in, I wanted to tell you guys something funny about these photos. We just took them across the street from our neighborhood and there was this precious and sweet elderly man who lives in our neighborhood walking his dog. When he came up on Charlie and I being weirdos and taking pictures on the side walk he politely stepped to the side into the grass. I thought he was just going to pass us but he instead he stood and watched us and I felt so awkward, hahah. Anyways, on to today’s post…
SWEATER (under $25!) | JEANS (under $50!) | BOOTIES, this year’s updated version here (under $100) | BURGUNDY HAT, similar here (under $50) | BAG, similar here and here, and here (only $28) | WATCH | BANGLE
I got this burgundy hat on clearance at the end of winter (I’m tellin’ ya, shop off season when you can!) and have been dying to bust it out lately. I was working on putting together an outfit with the hat one day when realized that I had a handbag that my cousin gave me several years ago that was a perfect match to the burgundy hat.
Sometimes people get scared of being matchy matchy with things so I decided to show you how you can use matching accessories to add a pop of color to a neutral fall outfit. 🙂 I mentioned that I’ve been enjoying lighter palettes for fall this year but you can honestly never go wrong with classic fall colors, like burgundy, olive, and mustard. So this burgundy hat and bag were the perfect way to give a light and neutral outfit the perfect touch of fall color.
I wore my high waisted, off-white wide leg jeans that I’ve been obsessing over this fall with a sassy but cozy off the shoulder sweater. I wore a pair of taupe sock booties to compliment the sweater and accessorized with dainty, feminine accessories. One thing I love about fall and winter is wearing darker lip colors and this outfit was the perfect one for a good bold lip to match the burgundy hat and bag. 🙂
What do you guys think of matching accessories like this burgundy hat and bag? Not so silly looking when you make them the statement pieces of the outfit, right? 🙂 I hope you guys enjoyed this look! This has been one of my faves I’ve shared lately and I’m not even wearing anything new! 😛 You can always find new, fun ways to style things in your closet without having to buy something new! (*makes mental note*)
