Happy April everyone! Did anyone pull off any great pranks yesterday? I never manage to come up with any good tricks! I can’t believe it’s already a new month, though. April is a big birthday month in my family so I’m getting cards and gifts ready to mail back to NC. I wish I could spend the birthdays with my family, but circumstances just don’t allow right now. However, my mom has been up visiting Charlie and me for the last 2 weeks and it’s been so great to have some mom time!
I’ve been sick lately, so I haven’t been able to get out of the apartment much and my poor mom has been cooped up with me. So last weekend, to help break a little cabin fever, Charlie took my mom and me into the city for brunch at one of our favorite spots. The weather was beautiful and it was so nice to get out and about for a bit! Not to mention, La Colombe in Fishtown never disappoints the taste buds!
La Colombe is definitely more of a low key spot, so it called for a nice, casual brunch look. Blue and white striped shirts seem to be in full force this spring so I wore one of mine, which also happens to be my favorite spring tunic! I love me a good tunic, guys. I don’t know why, but I always have. This is the first button down tunic I’ve ever had, though. And I love that it’s collarless! So chic. I love this shirt for so many reasons. It’s classic with a taste of trendy, which makes for such an effortless look.
To keep things ultra casual, I paired the tunic with my distressed Levi’s. Are you guys getting sick of these jeans yet? Okay good, me neither. And since I’m in Philly and we’re not ready for full fledge sandals yet, I wore a cute pair of peep toe booties—a perfect spring transition shoe. And finally, a cute spring bag (how adorable is this petal bucket bag from Coach?!) and some sleek shades and we’re all set.
What are your favorite looks for a casual brunch? And what are your plans for April? I have a lot of things that need to happen this month (more on that later), so I’m heading into April with guns blazing!
