Hello hello and happy Sunday gang! I hope everyone’s having a great weekend so far. It’s kind of a bummer after last week’s long weekend. We’ve had a nice one, though. Friday night we spent some time with friends and yesterday we went to the gym, painted the bathroom, washed cars and enjoyed dinner on the deck. Not entirely sure what today has in store other than our usual Sunday trip to the grocery store and weekly meal prep but I wouldn’t mind a quiet day otherwise. 🙂 Anywho, let’s dive into today’s blog post, shall we? I’m sharing a classic summer dress with you all today and I think you’re gonna love it!
Classic is classic for a reason. You guys know I love to mix and match classic, basic and neutral pieces with modern and trendy items. The classics and basics will last you for years and all you have to do is switch out your accessories with a current trend each season. This just helps things seem a little more “relevant.” And that’s exactly what I did with this classic summer dress.
Few things are more classic in the summer than a navy polka dot dress. The one I’m wearing is an adorable baby-doll shift dress that would flatter just about anyone. It has a nice chiffon layer on top which makes it easy to dress up or down. I decided to go a little more casual this time so I wore a pair of flat white sandals. In order to keep things a little on the trendy side I wore a straw boater hat and carried a straw hand bag.
But, like I said, you could easily dress things up too. I would just swap the flat sandals for a nice pair of strappy heels. It would even be cute closer to fall with a pair of sneakers and a white long-sleeve tee layered underneath. There are so many ways you can wear a classic summer dress like this and that’s why I love it so much! How would you style this dress?
I hope you enjoyed today’s look! Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you guys soon!
