How’s everyone doing on this fine Thursday? I’ve had an awesomely productive week so far and I. am. loving it! Sunday, I spent the afternoon at Made Institute meeting some super talented local designers, makers, and business owners and got to spend some more time with some other local influencers. It was super inspiring to be in a room full of ambitious and passionate people willing to support each other in their journeys! I don’t know if it was feeling pumped from the event, my new essential oil, or just my own drive but I kicked butt and took names on Monday and got so much done! And I feel like a productive Monday has just set me up for a kick butt week! I hope you’re all feeling the same way this week! 🙂 And if you’re not, take some time to do something you love and get inspired and start fresh tomorrow! You got this! 🙂
If I’ve never told you guys before, I’m obsessed with Lou & Grey. It’s this amazingly comfortable loungewear line that’s sold at LOFT and we all know how much I love LOFT so it’s like heaven on top of heaven. Also, PSA to all of my fellow Nordstrom lovers, they just started selling Lou & Grey at Nordstrom, too! Anyyyways, I found this layering dress by Lou & Grey and just about died because it couldn’t be anymore perfect. It’s chic, casual, versatile, has pockets, and is stupid comfy! It looks great on just about anyone and is a total staple piece!
The best part about a layering dress, especially one like this, is that it’s great for all seasons! You can wear a t-shirt underneath it in the spring, wear it by itself in the summer with a pair of sandals, wear it with a pair of booties and suede jacket in the fall, and wear a cardigan and knee high boots with it in the winter! It’s so insanely versatile and timeless all at the same time. It’s a simple little swing dress that’s a great neutral color that will go with anything!
Since we’re all about starting that summer to fall transition over here, I thought I would style the layering dress in a way that was summer appropriate but could easily be worn in the fall with an added layer. Peep toe booties are the perfect shoe for those transitional months because you get a taste of fall style with the comfort of an open toed shoe. I carried my grey circle bag because it’s a perfect all year color. Aaand I decided to keep accessories minimal since the look itself was feeling rather minimal so I wore a pair of dainty gold hoops and a simple statement ring. I don’t usually wear more than one accessory at a time (just a personal thing) unless they’re simple pieces like these since they don’t compete with one another.
So there ya have it, the perfectly versatile, timeless, stylish, and comfy layering dress that works for all seasons! If you’re in a hotter area, trade the peep toe booties out for a pair of wedges and if you’re in a cooler area, toss a denim jacket over the dress and you’re good to go! See how easy it is to make the dress work either way?!
