Happy freakin’ fall! It’s the first day of fall, y’all and I am soooo excited about it, oh my gosh! Who else?! Anyways, how’s everyone doing on this fine fall Sunday? 🙂 I hope you’ve all had a fabulous weekend thus far! Friday was just a nice, chill evening which was great after a nutty week. Yesterday Charlie and I went to a fun cookout for his work and then came home and worked on pairing and caulking the baseboards in our living room. #adulting This morning we’re headed into Philly to shoot with a friend of mine and then I’m headed to yet another brunch. I feel like I’m turning into one of those people who goes to brunch way too often, haha. Anyone else brunchin’ a lot these days?
Corduroy is super hot this fall which has me excited because I love corduroy and feel like it was underrated for a while. And because it’s so on trend, corduroy skirts are easily the post popular skirts for fall. Heartloom kindly sent me this light brown corduroy skirt to share with you guys and it. is. perfect! From the color to the fit to the minimal detailing. And with it being the first day of fall I figured it was an appropriate time to share a fall it item with you. 😉
I wanted to style the corduroy skirt in a neutral outfit for you guys so that it would hopefully be pretty easy to replicate. So, in my true nature, I mixed black and brown once again. I paired a black and white striped mock neck with the skirt. The one I’m wearing just so happens to be ribbed which I love paired with the corduroy. I always like to make it clear that, yes, I wore black and brown together on purpose so I wore a pair of black booties and carried a black quilted bag to match the black stripes in the shirt. And to bring the brown full circle again I wore a brown fedora with black trim to literally top the look off. 😉 Get it? Hehe.
I already have other outfits in mind for this skirt. I’m imagining it with a a grey sweater and light brown OTK boots once it gets cooler out! How would you guys style this corduroy skirt? Are you loving corduroy too?
