Helloooo and happy hump day lovely people! How are we all doing? As you guys probably know by now, the townhouse is built, we closed, and are officially homeowners living in our new house! It’s in a bit of disarray right now, but such is life when you’re moving. Fun fact: this is the FOURTH time I’ve moved in the last TWO AND A HALF years. And I. Am. Over it. So thankful that this is a more permanent move! Also the most exciting of the four moves, of course. 😉 And I’m already loving this home of ours!
You can see there’s still a bit of work to be done on the exterior. The one (small) downside to having a house built is that you’re in a developing community. There are 4 more rows of homes to go up in our community (some already started) but everything should be completed and cleaned up by the end of the summer!
Anywho, I know I told you guys that I would be sharing the decorating process as we settle in and make the place our own. But I thought I would start out by giving you an empty house tour so you could really see things from start to finish! Plus, I’ve had a lot of you commenting and asking about things and I wanted you to be able to see things as soon as possible. 🙂 And, of course, I’m overly excited so I’m more than happy to share this, hehe. It’s always great to have photos to remember things by, so I snapped some photos of our empty home during our final walk through. So… without further adieu, let me take you on an empty house tour of our new townhome!
Main Floor (Living Room, Kitchen, and Dining Room)
This is your view when you walk in our front door-you’re standing in our living room looking into the dining room and kitchen. The main floor is my favorite part of the house! I die over all of the natural light (huge believer in and lover of the power of natural light). I also love our hardwood floors! It’s hard to tell in the photos, but they’re a gray-brown.
The French door in the dining room leads out to our deck. So excited to have an outdoor space and even more excited to be able to GRILL OUT again!
This is the view of the living room from the kitchen & dining room. The front door is in the right hand corner and to the right of that is a little coat closet.
This is the view of our two stairwells from the living room. For reference, the door you see in the left corner is the coat closet. We’ll start by going downstairs on our right hand side. 🙂
Basement (AKA Charlie’s Man Cave 😉 )
This is the view of as soon as you get to the bottom of the stairs. Charlie is super excited to have his own space and I’m so excited for him! He’s gonna dude it up to the max. The window is an egress window so it’s actually below ground, but it still let’s in a decent amount of natural light!
I forgot to move the shoes out of the way for this photo! Agh! Haha. Anyways, this is the view from standing in the middle of the basement. On the left, just before the stairwell, is a powder room (half bath). The two doors you see on your right are to our utility closet, but there is a third door to the far right that leads to our two car garage! I didn’t think you guys would be interested in seeing our garage so let’s just head up to the third floor now. 😛
Third Floor (Bedrooms)
This is our master suite! It feels gigantic compared to our little one bedroom apartment, hehe. We have tons of light (I love the window above our shower), a double sink, and a beautiful tray ceiling in the bedroom.
Slightly less exciting photos, but these are our two spare bedrooms. The first is our guest room and the second will be my office! So super excited for an office space. And of course to decorate it, hehe.
Well, that’s it friends and family! A little peek into our new home! I hope you enjoyed the empty house tour! I can’t wait to keep you posted on the decorating process. Some things are already coming together little by little, but I know this is a process and won’t happen in a week’s time. Tough to admit coming from the world’s most impatient human being, haha. Thanks so much for all of your love, support, and encouragement during this incredibly exciting time in our lives! You all are absolutely wonderful! Have an absolutely amazing day!
