Hey guys and gals! How’s everyone’s week going? My week has been busy busy busy! But luckily I’m off today and plan to enjoy it. I’m headed out for lunch and manicures with two of my girlfriends this afternoon. A little girl time is always a good thing! Later this evening, the hubs and I are headed to the gym. I’m off tomorrow as well, but I’m back to errands and blog work again! I don’t mind being busy like this though. It’s had me feeling very productive and accomplished. It’s just been one of those weeks where work, errands and productivity have balanced perfectly with me time, friend time, and hubby time. Don’t you love when that happens? Gotta take your victories when you can, ya know?
As pictured above, I’m officially beginning to taunt fall. I’ve enjoyed having a sun tan, but otherwise, I’m pretty much over summer. Fall is hands down my favorite season! Give me moderate temps all year round and I’d be a happy gal. I love the crisp air, outdoor activities (I’d much prefer to be outdoors in fall than in summer), the changing of the leaves, the food and sweet treats, and of course the fashion. What’s your favorite season and why?
I wore this fringed Free People cardigan with a pair of cut offs as a way to sneak some of my fall wardrobe into my outfit. Transitioning from summer to fall is all about incorporating versatile pieces. This cardigan is a perfect all season piece because the knit is loose and the color can be worn all year. Since it is still August, though, I wore it with a pair of distressed cut offs. I mean, we’re not ready to break out the scarves just yet-it is called a transition, after all.
I wore a black satin cami to darken the look up a bit. I also wore flat black sandals to keep it casual. These sandals are great for transitioning as well because they cover a larger area of the foot (almost like a peep toe flat). But as the days get a little less hot, you could totally swap the sandals out for a pair of booties. I’ve never really worn booties with shorts, but I’m really excited to do that in the coming weeks!
How do you start the summer to fall transition and what are some of your favorite transitional pieces?
