Hello hello and happy Sunday dear friends! Did everyone go get tacos and margaritas yesterday?! I sure hope so! Obviously we Americans minimize their holiday to food, but who doesn’t love a trip to the Mexican restaurant? Trust me, Charlie and I eat Mexican food alllll year round. We love it! Especially Charlie! 😀 We spent the day in the city yesterday. Charlie had a dentist appointment, we did some shooting, and we, in fact, got Mexican food. We’d been wanting to try some highly recommended places in the city so it seemed like the perfect day to do it! Aaaand who had a Star Wars marathon on May the 4th (be with you)? Not me… for all my Star Wars fans out there, please don’t hate me, but that is notttt my jam. As a total side note, I tried something new with my pictures and I’d love to know if you guys like it or not!

I couldn’t even tell you the last time I owned a pair of khaki shorts. Whenever I use to think of khaki shorts (at least for women), I would make a gagging noise, haha. They’re just kind of dull… if you don’t have fun with them that is. When I found these khaki shorts from SheIn for only $8 and I didn’t think they were atrocious, I knew I had to give them a try! When I bought these, I realized a huge key to khaki shorts is getting a fun pair. If you can, get something with a ribbon, a fun hem, or that’s nice and flowy. Plain twill khakis are a challenge to spruce up. I always say that when it comes to classics, staples, and basics, it can be fun to buy a trendier version of them-khaki shorts are a great example of that!
So today, I’m going to show you how to make khaki shorts cute! As I mentioned, I bought a pair of khaki shorts that weren’t a basic twill and, instead, had a fun tie belt around a cinched waist. I’ve really been feeling the spring vibes lately so I decided to play on that by pairing the shorts with a white linen button down. This particular shirt has puffy sleeves and ribbons on the side which just gave a really simple outfit a lot of character. Again, the beauty of a trendy twist on a classic! Unfortunately my shirt is sold out and I couldn’t find any with the side ties, but I linked some other linen shirts that I love!
I thought it would be nice to dress this outfit up a bit so I wore a pair of strappy nude heels, a fun gold necklace with white tassels, and carried a nice straw cross body bag. I actually got this cute little bag for our Jamaican honeymoon and still love it! It’s definitely a beachy bag which is great because this would be a great outfit for a date night somewhere with palm trees! 😉
What did you guys think of this look? Anyone else have a bad impression of khaki shorts? It’s okay, I did too! But I’ve learned not to discriminate! Haha! Thanks for stopping by! See ya soon!
