Hope you guys have had an awesome weekend and that your Sunday is nice and relaxing! Charlie and I are on our way from one beach with one family to the next beach with the next family! We’re so lucky to have two entire weeks of sun, sand, and family. This past week with my side of the family was great! Tons of board games, pranks, and laughing. The weather was pretty rotten the first half of the week, but it shaped up for the last two days. Hopefully we’ll have great weather this week! Looking forward to another wonderful week of relaxation and laughter with Charlie’s side of the family! Last week flew by and I’m sure this week will too. Isn’t it weird how quickly the time seems to go on vacation? Time really does fly when you’re having fun! 😉
This was probably one of my favorite looks from the week (hence why I documented it for the blog). So very beachy! I love the effortlessly laid back but chic look of beach style. I also love a good summer sweater, so I thought I would show you guys how to style a summer sweater for the beach.
This is my favorite summer sweater this year and it’s perfect for the beach or vacation because it’s oversized and crocheted. Cream is always a great go to for the beach especially when it’s paired with denim. I paired the sweater with my denim skirt-let’s be honest, it’s always nice to show off freshly tanned legs. 😛 In order to keep things casual I wore a pair of flat gladiator sandals. I love these sandals but unfortunately they’re from last spring, so I linked a similar pair for you! I actually just happened to snag these sandals one day between classes because I was wearing a pair of shoes that were killing my feet, so I ran over to Belk and found these on the clearance rack, hahaha. Don’t you love when totally random purchases end up being some of your favorites?
Anyways… to keep things feeling beachy I thought something straw would be great, so I accessorized with a boater hat (doesn’t get a whole lot beachier than that, but a straw clutch would be another great idea!). I also wore a pair of brightly colored tassel earrings to make the look pop a bit more!
So, what’s the formula for how to style a summer sweater for the beach?
loose knit sweater + denim that shows off your tan + flat and casual sandals + something straw + a subtle pop of color = laid back beach perfection
What types of outfits do you like to wear for a laid back beachy look? I have another entire week to go so I could use a little inspo, I’m sure. 😛
