Wanted to share something a little different with you guys today and talk about Charlie’s and my anniversary celebration from a few weeks ago! We were super fortunate to be gifted a night’s stay at the loooovely Kimpton Hotel Palomar in center city Philadelphia. And just so we’re clear, I wasn’t “required” to write a whole blog post on our stay, we just had a really wonderful experience and I thought they deserved a bit of recognition. 🙂
Like I said, we stayed there on the night of our anniversary… and they definitely went above and beyond to help us celebrate! As soon as they pulled our info up at check-in they told us “happy anniversary” and when we got to our (beautiful) room, there was champagne and a hand written note that was sitting next to a… wait for… PICTURE OF US ON OUR WEDDING DAY! What the heck?! Seriously such a cool touch! I felt like a kid reading one of those books where they make the main character’s name your name. Ha! It was seriously so great. We had to hustle to our dinner reservation so I didn’t have a chance to snap a photo of the champagne, but you can still see the glasses and photo in the pictures. 🙂
Another fun fact about the awesome service… about a half hour after we checked in, we got a text message from the front desk attendant telling us to feel free to text with any questions, concerns, or requests! What’s even better is that it was the same sweet girl who checked us in and left the note for us in our room! Talk about personal touches.
As you can see so far, the room was absolutely beautiful. Super spacious, very nicely decorated, and super clean! I’m gonna guess I’m not alone here, but please don’t make me stay in a hotel that makes me feel like I’m sleeping on someone else’s used sheets. Gross. But the highlight of this room was the freakin’ spa bathrooooom! We seriously felt so luxurious, haha. Huge walk in shower with a step up into a generously sized jacuzzi tub equipped with seats and all! Aaaamazing. Ugh, and the lighting during the day was absolutely amazing. You can’t beat a beautifully naturally lit space.
Yeah, needless to say it was a wonderful night. Incredible service and all around beautiful hotel. You can see some snippets of the lobby and other common areas from a post I did there back in the fall. They also have a really nice restaurant, Square 1682, in the hotel where Charlie and I had a nice glass of wine and really great conversation. 🙂 Other fun perks? They have in-room spa services (wish we had the time to enjoy that!) and they’re pet friendly! I wanted to take Aspen with us so badly because he’s never been into the city, but we had things we were doing around the city afterwards and nowhere to leave him since we were checking out for the day.
If you’re ever visiting Philly and need a place to stay, you will not be disappointed at Hotel Palomar. And we obviously loved it for our little staycation! It’s also clearly a wonderful place to stay if you’re celebrating a special occasion. Oh, and the view wasn’t half bad either. 😉
Huge thanks to the lovely people at Hotel Palomar for making our second wedding anniversary super special!
