Happy Sunday gang! What’s everyone been up to this weekend? Friday, Charlie and I spent the day in the city hammering out a bunch of blog shoots. We have some things coming up over the next couple of weekendss and just didn’t want to have to stress about shooting. Our goal was to shoot 7 outfits and we managed to get through 5 before the heat beat us. The heat index was 101 so I’m calling it a win, honestly. Yesterday we cleaned house and did some reorganizing so things are feeling nice and put together today. Aaand later this afternoon I’m headed into Philly for a little blogger event and I’m excited to hangout with some awesome ladies for the a few hours. 🙂
I snagged this dress at last week’s style event at LOFT for only $20 which is a steal considering it was originally $100! I actually remember seeing this dress online and not really caring for it but, when I tried it on in the store, I totally changed my mind. Isn’t it funny how things look so different on than they do in a picture or on a hanger? And for $20 I just couldn’t resist.
I’m not ready for summer to end, but I know that it’s going to sooner rather than later so I’m trying to ease out of the season by starting my summer to fall transition a little early so I can keep some emphasis on the summer part of the outfits for a little while longer. 🙂 And this is the perfect LBD for summer to fall because it has all of the summer trends with the OTS, button front, and ruffle detailing but it’s a great length to carry over into the early days of fall. But, like I said, it’s still summer and I’m soaking up every last bit of it so I kept the dress feeling nice and summery by wearing a pair of black wedges, carrying a straw bag, and wearing white tassel earrings and a bright summer lip.
But you can totally take this dress with you into the beginning of fall by trading the wedges out for a pair of peep toe booties, the straw bag for a slouchy satchel, the tassel earrings for gold drop earrings, and the bright lip for a dark burgundy lip. It’s super simple! And if you really want to make the dress last, throw a suede jacket or oversized cardigan over top!
What do you guys think of this LBD for summer to fall transitioning? How would you style it as we get closer to fall? Thanks so much for stopping by today you guys!
