Happy happy Father’s Day to all of the wonderful dads out there! Sure do wish I could give my dad a big hug today but I’m super excited to see him in just a couple of weeks! I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend! I kicked the weekend off on Friday night in the city celebrating Ashlee of Tusks and Tails 30th birthday! It was such a fun girl’s night! The rest of the weekend has just kind of been the same ‘ol same ‘ol. Charlie and I hit the gym, tidied a little, ran some errands and are just trying to soak up some quality time together. 🙂
Today I want to talk about leopard print with you guys. I’m a big leopard print lover all year round! I feel like it used to just be a fall and winter type of print so I’m thrilled that there are leopard print pieces that work for summertime too now! So let’s talk about how to wear leopard print in the summer! It’s super easy! 🙂
Wearing leopard print in the summer is actually super easy! All you have to do is soften it up, lighten it up or both! In the fall and winter we tend to wear leopard print with black, faux fur, shearling, suede and heavy leather. In the summer, try wearing leopard print with white. It’s surprisingly chic and actually makes things a bit more subtle. You can also soften it up by wearing items with summer textures like straw bags, straw hats and braided belts.
The other thing to consider when you’re wearing leopard print in the summer is to make sure its paired with pieces that make it clear what season your dressing for. For instance, this top could really be worn year round. Imagine it with a pair of black skinny jeans. Even with the sandals and straw accessories its still going to feel a little out of place in June, ya know? If you’re wearing a leopard midi skirt, make sure you’re showing off your arms and pedicure. 😉
What about you guys? Do you like to wear leopard print in the summer too? If you tend to shy away from it in warmer months then I hope today’s short post helped you out some! Thanks for reading, friends and fam! Until next time. 🙂
