Happy Thursday from the big apple you guys! I feel like I’ve been all over the world and back the last few weeks. And by that I mean to 3 places all within driving distance, but you get the point. Charlie had to work in NY this week so I decided to take advantage of a free hotel room and join him for a couple of days. 😛 It’s been tough getting back into the swing of things post-vacation, mostly because I knew a few days in NY were in the near future so it almost kinda felt like vacation wasn’t really over, if that makes sense. But such is life. Monday will be another chance, haha.
DRESS | LINEN KIMONO | WEDGES, almost identical here (same brand that I’m actually wearing) | BAG, similar here | HAT | WATCH | EARRINGS (c/o Rocksbox – pssst, get 1 month for FREE when you use the code “thesavvycamelxoxo at sign up!)
I feel like I’m probably confusing you because I’m like “oh hey, I’m in NY right now but live in PA but here are some pics from the beach in NC” hahah! But here’s another look we shot on vacation that I just looove. I found this linen kimono just a few days before we left for vacation and I felt like it had my name written all over it! Which obviously meant I had to purchase it and toss it in the suitcase, hehe.
Anywho, I feel like this linen kimono is such a great versatile and classy layering piece for the summer! It can be chic or boho, dressy or casual, or anything you choose to make it! I wanted to go for almost like a boho chic look for the beach – something dressy enough for a date night on vacay but still casual enough for the beach.
I ended up styling the linen kimono with a simple white swing dress to keep things feeling chic. To make things slightly boho, I added this super cute black and white straw fedora I snagged from none other than LOFT (my dress is from LOFT too, hehe). To keep things feeling dressed up just a smidge, I wore a pair of black wedges. Aaaand finally, to keep things beachy and to tie everything together, I carried my black straw bag!
What do you guys think of this little look? Would you wear a linen kimono? I feel like it’s perfect if you need layering pieces in the summer like me. I get cold in restaurants and stores in such and this kimono gives an added layer without needing to carry around a jacket or sweat to death when you’re outside! Hope you guys enjoyed the look! Thanks for poppin’ in!
