Hey hey and happy Thursday you guys! I hope everyone’s month is off to a great start. I know mine is. 🙂 Charlie spoiled me rotten for my birthday this past weekend. He kicked the weekend off by taking me on a little shopping spree on Friday. On Saturday we were nice and lazy and did some serious Netflix binging and, on Sunday, he took me to my first ever Phillies game and had some of my friends show up and surprise me! It was awesome! We topped everything off with a beautiful and super fun 6 mile hike at Ricketts Glen and saw tons of gorgeous waterfalls. If you’re in PA and looking for a good place to go hike, you should put that at the top of your list! 🙂 Tuesday was my actual birthday so we just had dinner at my favorite restaurant. Honestly, just having so much time to spend with him where I was truly unplugged from working made this one of the best birthdays I’ve had in a while.
I feel like you guys probably know by now that I love mixing black and brown. It just makes your options endless and can really elevate a look. Mixing black and brown is especially great at the turn of seasons because it can help you create a more transitional outfit like the one I styled here.
I wanted to style this ruffled black and white top for you guys even though we’re heading into fall so I decided to make it work as part of a transitional outfit which was super easy with the black stripes. It was even easier mixing black and brown with this look because the top has brown buttons on it. I decided to pair the top with a pair of faded black busted knee jeans and -sidebar – I’d been wanting these jeans for the longest time but they’re normally $98 and I lucked the heck out because I found them on sale at an outlet for $25! I’m telling you guys to always look for sales!
Aaaanyways, I pulled brown into the look by pairing my cognac gladiator sandals with it because they’re a perfect color for late summer and early fall days. I also carried my straw bucket bag with cognac wooden handles because it’s a perfect compliment to the shoes. I added a pair of brown tassel earrings to really bring the brown full circle and topped things off with my go-to gold watch and a pair of black and brown sunglasses.
What did you guys think of this little look? I feel like it’s a great outfit for late summer and early fall. You capture summer with the ruffles and straw bag and you capture fall with the dark tones. Does anyone else like mixing black and brown? Charlie always tells me he doesn’t know anyone else who can do it, but I say ya just gotta go for it and rock it! Thanks so much for reading today! Hope you enjoyed! 🙂
