Whaddup friends and fam? As always, I hope you’re all having a lovely week thus far! Not much to report over here in all honesty. Our visitors over the last two weeks are what kept Charlie and I interesting. With no house guests we’re kinda boring. Haha, just kidding. We’ve just been taking it easy post hosting, though, which has been really nice! We’re headed to dinner with a friend this evening and hopefully shooting some new looks for you guys on Saturday if the rain holds off. Fingers crossed…
You guys already know I’m all about some neutrals, but I love mixing black, white, and brown! It’s one of my fave combos. I know a lot of people are shy about black and brown, but it’s honestly so dynamic and opens up a world of possibilities! One of the best ways to ease into the black and brown combo is to go for a cognac or whiskey color instead of a standard shade of brown.
In this case, I used cognac as the accent. So I just did simple cognac booties and a small cognac crossbody bag. I still let the black dress and white cardigan be the larger tones in the outfit so it wasn’t overwhelming. And of course I wore my go-to but always trusty gold boyfriend watch and some simple gold drop earrings. I’ve been loving these earrings lately! They’re only $5.90 (say what?!) and they’re really light weight and comfortable!
Hope you liked the look and it inspired you to mix your forbidden neutrals!
