What’s up guys?! Happy Sunday! I hope you’ve all been having an absolutely fabulous weekend so far! I kicked mine off in style (literally) at the LOFT style party in Plymouth Meeting on Friday. It was a ton of fun! I got to meet some new and wonderful faces, we donated a ton of clothing to the Mitzvah Circle Foundation, and did some serious shopping. I mean, it was 50% off the entire store, $20 off $100 if you donated clothes, AND I had a $40 reward sooo… I made out like a bandit, hehe. Anyways, yesterday Charlie and I got up and shot a couple of looks early in the morning before the rain started and then enjoyed a rainy day at home together. 🙂 My father-in-law is getting into town tonight to visit for the week! He’s such a good man because he’s coming up to help us with some projects around the house that we just don’t have the necessary tools for. But I definitely want to make sure he doesn’t just work the whole time and gets to have some fun and relaxation too. 🙂

Not sure if you guys remember but I styled these khaki shorts back in the spring. I dressed them up for that post so I decided I would dress them down this go round, just as a reminder that you can wear khaki shorts and still look stylish. 😉 For this casual look, I decided to go for a modern twist on a classic combo by wearing a navy OTS tee and khaki shorts.
The tee was loose fitting and flowy so I half tucked the front of it into the shorts to give the outfit a bit of dimension. The shorts have a cute little bow and cinched waist so that kept the look from being frumpy and boring – it gave things a touch of feminism. 🙂 I wore a pair of flat brown sandals but went for a slightly saucier pair with the gold rivets. Again, the little details help give a simple combination some oomph! Accessorizing the right way helps spice up your outfit too, so I went for my straw bucket bag that tied in perfectly with the shorts and sandals. My brown tassel earrings were also a great match that offered some added pizzaz! And of course some diva sunglasses will never letcha down. 🙂
Do you guys ever like to take a classic combination like a navy t-shirt and khaki shorts and give it a fun modern, trendy twist? Is this something you’d be interested in seeing more of? Let me know! 🙂
