Happy happy Thursday lovely people! I hope you’re all doing well! It’s been a pretty nice week around here. I’ve gotten plenty of work done, ran a few errands, hit the gym, and even stayed on top of the laundry! 😉 Today is just a bit more of the same. Every week Charlie and I try to spend one night technology free (no phones, no computers, no TV) so we can really just spend time together. We haven’t done one in a few months though, sadly. You know how it is with the holidays and, well, just life. But we’re going to try to start that up again tonight so I’m pretty excited for some good quality time with my best guy tonight. 🙂 What are some ways that you like to unplug with your significant other, best friend, or family?
SWEATER, similar here (only $13) and here | WHITE SKINNY JEANS (under $50, recommend sizing up 1 size) | NAVY PLAID COAT (c/o Chicwish), under $150 | RED BOOTIES (c/o Amazon) | WHITE CLUTCH (only $14) | RED BERET (c/o Amazon), similar here
You guys know I am love love loooovin’ me some Chicwish these days and today’s post is no exception. They kindly gifted me this stunning navy plaid coat and I have been dying to share it with y’all! I absolutely love it! It makes me feel so sophisticated, hehe. 😛 It’s also super heavy which I love! It’s like the good kind of cozy and comforting heavy, ya know?
The only thing that’s worth noting with this coat is that it has no zippers, buttons, or ties to keep it closed so it’s definitely more of a stylish piece than a practical piece. In other words, it’s perfect to stay warm and trendy on a 40 degree day but maybe not ideal for 15 degrees and 20 mph winds. 😉
Anywho, there were a handful of ways that I wanted to style this coat for you guys but I decided to show it to you in its full glory. Like I mentioned, it’s a fairly sophisticated piece so I wanted to keep the outfit sophisticated yet trendy. So I decided to style it with a pair of white skinny jeans and a grey sweater. Classic combo for a classic looking navy plaid coat! But in order to make things pop and bring in that “trend” factor, I decided to wear a pair of red booties and a red beret. This made the red on the coat stand out without stealing the show since red wasn’t the primary color in the coat.
I’m also excited to style this coat in a slightly more unexpected way! I’m envisioning it with a pair of super distressed jeans and sneakers. I love to pair two totally different styles together! How would you guys style this coat? Did you like this look? It was definitely a little bit more bold for me but it’s always fun to dress up from time to time. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by today and have a fantastic rest of your week! We’re over half way there!
