Happy Thursday fine folks! Hope you’re all doing well. I’m gonna be honest with ya, I have been strug-uh-lin’ this week. First, it’s been rainy all week so that hasn’t helped. Monday night was a bit of a late night and then Aspen woke up in the middle of the night sick so we got to do a 3am sheet change and carpet cleaning So you can imagine how awesome I was feeling on Tuesday, haha. And yesterday, I dunno, I guess I’ve just been a mess all week that my productivity is just shot. Gonna try to get my head right today though, hehe. Anyone else ever feel like sometimes their whole week gets messed up and you don’t even know why?
This olive lace top is another beautiful piece that Heartloom kindly sent me that I’m absolutely adoring for fall. The lace detailing is gorgeous and I love the victorian style of the sleeves. And I already know this is going to be a color I wear tons of this fall! It’s such a unique top but it’s still elegant and has a sense of timelessness about it. It’s also super versatile which you guys already know I love. I honestly had a hard time deciding how I wanted to style it for the blog because I had so many ideas in mind so I decided to show you two ways.
The first is a nice dressy look. It’s inherently a dressy top being that it’s all lace so I decided to keep it dressed up with a pair of wide leg ivory pants. The top is sheer and I’m, personally, not a fan of wearing camis under my tops, so I wore a bralette underneath instead. I’m obviously still covered but it’s not like everyone can see my undergarments, ya know? Haha. I wanted to keep things nice and chic so I wore a strappy pair of nude heels and carried a nude leather quilted bag. I didn’t do much accessorizing so that the top could speak for itself and simply topped the look of with a bold lip.
I love taking a dressy piece and wearing it casually (or vice versa) so, for this second look, I wanted to dress the top down. I decided to pair it with a pair of straight leg, classic wash pair of jeans to achieve the casual look. Since the first look was so light, I decided to go with black accents for the casual outfit so I wore a black bralette underneath the top that peeks through the lace for a little extra sass. I also wore a pair of casual black heels, carried a casual black crossbody bag, and threw on a simple black belt to pull everything together.
So there ya have it, folks. How to dress an olive lace top up and how to dress it down. Which outfit did you like the best? My style tends to lean more casual in general so I think the second look would have to be my pick! Hope you enjoyed this post and have fun dressing your favorite sassy top up or down! 🙂
