What’s everyone been up to this weekend? Charlie’s out of town for a volleyball tournament so it’s just me and Aspen holding down the fort over here! I’ve had a nice, quiet weekend so far. Aspen’s gotten a few walks in (he loves going on walks!), I planted a little flower box for our patio on Friday, and yesterday I did some tidying around the apartment. Otherwise, I’ve just been relaxing and enjoying the weather out on the patio (okay, and way too much Netflix… but that’s nothing new). It was nice to have a couple of days to rest after going back to work this week. I know that sounds absolutely ridiculous considering I only worked 15 hours all week, but I’m still a little bit puny, okay. 😆
I’m not sure why, but I feel like this look is a little different from my “typical” style. I mean, I don’t really define my style in one specific way, but you know how it is when you’re like “oh yeah, this is so me.” But I actually really enjoy doing something a little out of the ordinary sometimes, even when it’s not super risky or bold. That’s how you make your style your own!
This look is all springy and cutesy! I can totally see it at a picnic or fun outdoor event. The plaid, peplum top is definitely the anchor of the outfit. This was the piece that was a step outside of the box for me. Do you ever see something and you’re surprised that you like it, but like, you really like it. That was me with this top and I was so excited about it! I think it was the subtle colors of the plaid, the peplum, and the bell sleeves all wrapped into one that made it irresistible. And let’s just take a moment to acknowledge that the top is now on crazy good sale, so it’s that much more deserving of heart eyes.
I paired the top with a pair of classic skinny jeans but I kept the look cute, fun, and girly with these stinkin’ precious flat denim espadrilles. I can’t wait to style these so many different ways! (P.S. they’re super comfortable and also on sale!) Aaaand I added my cute little petal bucket bag to the look as well! My exact bag is sold out, sadly, but I inked a similar one above for you!
Do you like branching out with your style from time to time as well? Or do you have a very specific style that you’re committed to? Both things are 1000% okay! It’s always fun to see people who mix styles versus people who manage to absolutely nail the heck out of one! That’s the beauty of style!
