Hola from Cozumel! Charlie and I are currently on a cruise and today’s pit stop is Cozumel, Mexico! We’re celebrating our third wedding anniversary (which was on Tuesday)! Even though I’m writing this while I’m still in snowy PA, I feel like it’s safe to assume I can tell you guys that we’re having a great time soaking up some sun and having some quality and relaxing one on one time together. Just call me Allison the psychic. 😉 Seriously though, nothing better than a chance to unplug with your other half, right?
GRAPHIC TEE | PLAID BLAZER, similar here, here (most similar) and here | JEANS, similar here, here and here | SHOES (c/o Amazon) | HAT, similar here (most similar), here and here | BAG, similar here and here
I snagged this graphic tee when Charlie and I were home over Christmas. It’s from Camel City Goods and they make tons of Winston-Salem garb so Charlie and I always stop in when we’re visiting home. I’ve been dying to get the tee up on the blog but wanted to do something kind of fun and unexpected with it so I decided to go for a plaid blazer and graphic tee combo.
It’s always fun to pair two things together that wouldn’t “traditionally” be worn together and still make it look seamless. A plaid blazer and graphic tee is a great combo to do that with. Obviously a blazer is a bit dressier and a tee is casual. So I decided to lean into both of those things. I complimented the blazer by dressing things up with a pair of pumps and a nice tote. The color of the tote was a great match with the smidgen of color in the blazer. I kept things laid bag with a pair of lightly distressed girlfriend jeans.
In an “opposites attract” kind of outfit like this, you have to tie everything together so that it makes sense. A great accessory is almost always going to be your best bet in doing that. It could be a bold pair of statement earrings, a fun scarf or… a hat. I went for a hat here because 1) I’m a crazy hat lady and 2) it was the perfect compliment to the bag.
Would you wear a plaid blazer and graphic tee together? Would you style things differently? Thanks so much for reading today and I’ll see ya when I’m back home. 😉
