Hello hello and happy Sunday lovely people! I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend so far. Charlie and I got to spend yesterday with a long time friend of mine who was visiting Philly and it was so good to see her and her hubby! Now we’re gearing up for the arrival of family later this afternoon. I’m so excited to see everyone and spend some time with them this week! It will be the first time some of them have been to visit us in PA so I’m really excited for them to see our new house and to show them a few fun things in Philly. Is anyone else traveling today or later on this week for Thanksgiving? If so, travel safely and have a wonderful trip! 🙂
PLAID JUMPER, from Smak Parlour, similar here, here (under $25) and here (most similar and only $18), also love this one (under $25), this one (only $17), and this one (only $13) | WHITE TURTLENECK | BOOTIES (under $100) | BAG (under $25) | EARRINGS
Not sure if you guys remember or not, but I had the honor of speaking at an event at Smak Parlour back in late September and this plaid jumper swept me off my feet the moment I walked in the door. So obviously I couldn’t leave the store without it. 😉 I’d been dying for it to feel more like fall so I could take it out for a spin and I finally got the chance to last week!
A plaid jumper is not an easy thing to style. I came up with several outfits for it and, they were all fine, but none of them were just right, ya know? My problem was that the plaid jumper was getting lost in the mix of the outfit. I tried pairing it with OTK boots which was just a lot, a big chunky sweater that didn’t lay quite right under the dress, and a tan sweater which just kind of washed the dress out.
But I finally landed on this outfit for the plaid jumper and didn’t want to take it off because I loved it so much! This outfit works so well because the dress gets to do all of the talking. The white turtleneck is a fitted sweater which allows the dress to lay neatly over top. It also pulls out the lighter colors in the dress which keeps the outfit from being washed out. The white booties pair perfectly with the sweater and aren’t overwhelming with the dress. And I simply topped the look off with a matching bag, a simple pair of gold hoops, and a deep burgundy lip to match the dress. 🙂
What do you guys think of this look? The plaid jumper is a fun statement piece for me! I know I always talk about classics and basics, but it’s okay to have fun from time to time, too. 🙂 Besides, the best part about this outfit is that it’s great for fall or for the holidays!
