Hope everyone’s having a great week so far! We’re almost to the end! If you guys follow along on Instagram, you probably saw that Monday marked a year of me living in PA. I. Cannot. Believe that. The year abso-flippin-lutely flew by! So much has happened since last May. Not only did I move to PA, but we’ve moved twice since then (we’re staying put for a while now, I’m sick of moving hahah), started working at Nordstrom, transitioned into an interim roll at work, transitioned back, started my blog, and celebrated our one year wedding anniversary. NUTS.
If you’ve ever moved far away from home, especially while starting a new job, you know that it’s hard to get back to visit. In the last 365 days, seven of them have been spent in North Carolina, and not all consecutively. It’s a huge bummer. Luckily my parents and in laws have made it up for a couple of visits, though. Of course I’ve missed my friends and family all along, but I’ve been missing them a bit extra lately. The good news is Charlie and I get to spend two weeks straight at the beach with both of our families in June and OH MY WORD I CANNOT WAIT! I’m hoping we’ll get back home to spend time with our friends and family a bit more this year in general. 🙂 Anyone have experience with moving far away from family? How often do you get back to visit?
This ruffled cold shoulder top and cut offs look was super spring inspired! The weather had been beautiful (I’m talkin’ temps in the 80s) when I was planning out my May looks and… lucky me, it was 52 the day we shot this look! #bloggerprobs 😛 But I loved this look too much to give it up for something warmer! Plus I figured it was still a great look for this time of year.
THIS TOP. This is my favorite cold shoulder top I’ve ever owned! I love the ruffles and billowiness of the top. It’s chic yet laid back at the same time. I’ve styled it a couple of other ways, but this has been one of my favorites so far. I think pairing it with distressed cut offs was a good way to make a good daytime look.
You could go more casual than I did here and do a flat sandal, but I felt like the top deserved to be showcased with a sassy, strappy heel. These are some of my all time favorite nude sandals! They dress up, they dress down, and they add the perfect amount of lady like sass to any look! I got a few questions about them when I posted a sneak peak of this look on Instagram and unfortunately these are from almost 2 years ago. 🙁 I did link up a similar pair that I hope you guys like though! Let me know if you want a few more similar options! And you guys know the drill by now—a cute bag, a good accessory (in this case a cute pair of tassel earrings) and voila, look complete.
Alright everyone, that’s it for today! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this look! Hope everyone has a great weekend and I’ll see you back here on Sunday!
