Happy Mother’s Day to all of you wonderful moms out there! Today is such a bittersweet day for me. It’s a day to celebrate the love and thankfulness I have for my amazing momma, but it’s sad that I can’t be with her to hug her. This is my first mother’s day away from my mom, even though last year I technically moved away (I know, I’m a horrible daughter) I still got to see her and take her to brunch beforehand! But, as I think she would agree, I’ve got the wings to be where I am because of her (and my sweet Daddy-O too, of course). If you’re near your mom today, don’t take it for granted and hug her tight! I would give anything to hug my mom and my mother-in-law today!
My weekend seemed fitting, though, given the holiday. If you know me or my mom, you know that I get my (unreasonably) high expectations of cleanliness from her, haha. Yesterday, Charlie and I finished painting our living room (and by Charlie and I, I mean Charlie) and then I did a massive spring-cleaning of the apartment. I’m talking washing baseboards, dusting blinds, vacuuming the washing machine (yes, I said vacuuming the washing machine). You know the episode of Friends where Monica is vacuuming her vacuum cleaner? Hi, I’m Allison. I did my momma proud, though!
TOP | JEANS | SHOES, also available here | BAG (my exact color is sold out, but I love their spring colors!) | WATCH, similar | BRACELET, similar (I have this bracelet in silver and love it!) | EARRINGS
I love this cute outfit for spring! Can we talk about how stinkin’ cute this top is?! And the best part is, it’s super budget friendly. I love the babydoll style with the high collar and ruffled sleeves. It’s so girly and fun! I wanted to get it in black and white (because neutrals), but I thought a pop of red would be a nice addition to my wardrobe!
I couldn’t decide how I wanted to style this ruffled sleeve babydoll top because there were so many fun options that I had picked out, but I decided to keep things crisp and clean with simple white skinnies. Okay, maybe crisp isn’t the word since I wore these precious mules with bows, but clean for sure. I’m so obsessed with these shoes! They make any outfit a little extra fun but the color keeps them fairly subtle all the same! I wore my hair up to show off the collar of the shirt and my favorite tassel earrings (I have them in red, too)! I carried one of my favorite bags for a nice contrast and just added a simple little bracelet… well, because why not?
How else would you style this top? I’m loving the idea of some distressed skinnies and a flat sandal for something more casual or black jeans and a saucy heel for a date night look! One last time, Happy Mother’s Day and happy Sunday, friends! Have a great day!
