Good morning and happy Sunday gang! I hope you’ve all had a fantastic weekend thus far! Charlie and I had a pretty chill night on Friday which was nice. Yesterday I went into the city and shot with my good friend Ashlee from Tusks and Tails. It was a pretty chilly day but we got a lot accomplished which is always a good feeling! Especially when Charlie gets a break from shooting because I know he enjoys that from time to time. Although, instead of shooting, he spent his day hanging blinds and painting so I wouldn’t necessarily call that a break, haha. But we ended our long Saturday on a sweet little date night at our favorite restaurant so we were both happy in the end. 🙂
Today I’m doing something just a little bit different and show you all a super easy trick to styling the same outfit 2 different ways. When I was styling this outfit for you, I couldn’t decide which version of it that I wanted to share with you. So, I decided to just share both as a way to show you how easy it really can be to wear the exact same outfit but give it a totally different feel! And, if you’re anything like me and hate repeating an outfit no matter how good it is… this will help you get a little more mileage out of some of your favorite looks. 😉
I knew that I loved this oversized black sweater paired with the white polka dotted skirt. A good black and white outfit will never let you down. I also love wearing big sweaters with flowy skirts. It’s nice to wear a fitted top with a flowy or loose fitting bottom to balance things out and give you some shape, but it’s also nice to just let everything be loose and cozy sometimes.
Now, what I couldn’t decide on was if I wanted to dress it up or dress it down, which brings me to the second look…
See?! It’s literally the exact same outfit 2 different ways. Something as simple as a pair of shoes can change the entire feel of an outfit! In fact, I think shoes are probably the easiest way to wear the same outfit 2 different ways without having to change or add layers or switch out all of your accessories.
The first look is a nice cozy yet dressed up look with the tights and black heeled booties. Speaking of the tights… the ones I’m wearing are actually fleece lined. I’ve never owned a pair of fleece lined tights but, let me tell you, they are game changers! They actually keep your legs relatively warm for a pair of tights – it’s incredible.
Anywho, the sneakers give the second look a comfy and laid back feel that’s still put together. This would be a great outfit for sight seeing so that ya look cute in your travel photos but are also still comfortable. 😉 A super simple switch for a pretty big difference in the outfit!
SWEATER (c/o Chicwish), also available in tan, similar here (only $25) and here | SKIRT, similar here, here, here and here | FLEECE LINED TIGHTS | BOOTIES | SNEAKERS (if between sizes, size down) | BAG (under $30) | SUNGLASSES (on sale for $50)
Which of these would you be most likely to wear? The first or second? I honestly couldn’t choose… hence why I shared both with you! I hope you all enjoyed this post and are feeling inspired to get more use out of a good outfit! Thanks for stopping by today!
