This past weekend Charlie and I went back home to North Carolina for another friend’s wedding. There are so many weddings happening in our lives lately and I absolutely love it. Is there anything better than love? I know, I know… cheesy, but what can I say? I’m a romantic. It was an absolutely beautiful weekend for a wedding! Even though it’s February, the entire weekend was sunny with mid 60s temperatures. It definitely brought on spring fever a bit early. Needless to say, we spent all day Friday roaming around outside and enjoying the fresh air. We spent the first part of the day in Old Salem, just outside of downtown Winston. If you’re ever in the Piedmont Triad area of NC, Old Salem is a must see! Afterwards, we headed downtown for little break and tried out a new local Winston spot—Burger Batch. Literally the best milkshakes I have ever had… or seen. I mean holy cow. (Picture to follow ;))
This outfit was perfect for 65-degree weather in February. It was lightweight and the soft pallet was a nice nod to beautiful spring-like weather without wearing daisy dukes in February. The pants were definitely the anchor of this look. I love love love these satin joggers! They are perfection. The beautiful sage green color is so chic. And they’re basically the most versatile pants I own now. They’re comfortable—perfect for, well, anything, but especially traveling and sight seeing. And they’re so easy to dress up or down. Joggers are inherently very casual, but the fact that these are satin gives them some added lux!
I’m super excited to style these joggers in all sorts of different ways (I’m seeing a leather motto jacket combo in the future), but for this look, I kept things light and chic. I paired it with one of my favorite sweaters. This sweater is from Lou & Grey last season, but I linked some similar styles above. If you’ve ever worn anything Lou & Grey, you understand that you’re clothed in a cloud. SO unbelievably comfortable!
I wore these classy, taupe, low heel pumps to keep things lady like. I absolutely adore these shoes! They’re going to be my favorite go to for the winter to spring transition. You feel like you’re walking in flats with the low heel but it keeps them super feminine at the same time. They’re obviously comfortable considering I trotted along brick sidewalks for an entire afternoon in them.
I finished off the look with a simple druzy stone necklace and some cool sunnies. And don’t forget my all time favorite—the half tuck. I don’t know what it is about a half tuck but it just elevates any look. It’s especially great for a look like this since the pants are so fun and everything else is fairly simple. It shows off the pants a bit more while giving the simple sweater some added oomph!
How do you guys like to begin your transition into spring? Do you like to wear your sweaters into early spring as well?
