Hey hey and happy Thursday! I think that’s one of my favorite greetings because it rhymes, hehe. I hope you’re all having a wonderful week so far! Honestly, I don’t have anything excited to share over here. We had the concrete on our porch re-poured on Monday and Aspen’s leash broke Tuesday night so I had to go get him a new one yesterday. It’s a pretty wild life we live over here. In all seriousness, I love when life is calm so I’m happy as a clam… especially with the amazing weather we’ve had this week! Anywho, today I’m sharing a big spring trend that I’m loving and that’s the short suit!
A big spring trend that took no persuading for me to love is the short suit. I was instantly on board because, even though it’s trendy, it’s also somewhat classic. It’s sophisticated and chic yet casual and on trend. It’s also super versatile. Think about it, with a short suit you’re getting 1) a suit 2) a blazer 3) a pair of shorts… 3 outfits in one!
Anywho, the reason I love this particular short suit is because it’s the best of all of the things I just mentioned. Not only do you essentially have 3 outfits, but the shorts on their own are super chic, super trendy and super versatile. And of course the same goes for the blazer! The ivory color makes it versatile but the subtle navy pinstripe gives it just a hint of simple and chic pizzaz.
You could definitely dress a short suit up with a pair of pumps or heels and a clutch. You could also dress it way down with a pair of sneakers and a little backpack (I think that would be super cute). But I went for a middle of the road look here. I styled it with a simple top to pull out the pinstripes, a pair of flat sandals and a leather watch to keep things more on the casual side, but dressed it up ever so slightly with a boxy leather and rattan crossbody bag.
So, what do you guys think of the short suit trend? Yay or nay? I’m always curious to hear your thoughts on trends! Thanks so much for reading today, I hope you enjoyed!
