Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you’re all having a great weekend. I can’t believe this is the last Sunday of the year! Charlie and I are spending the day shooting a couple of looks and running some errands. We got back to PA late Friday night so we’re just trying to get our lives back in order before we get back to the grind this week. I have some things I need to take care of tomorrow, but he’s actually out of work until Wednesday so I’m hoping for a little quiet time just the two of us on Tuesday. I can’t think of a better way to start the new year. 🙂
I’m calling this look “from the office to New Year’s.” 😛 Charlie didn’t like that because he doesn’t think anyone would ever wear this on New Year’s but I totally disagree! I think this is a great sophisticated New Year’s outfit for someone who has to dress work appropriate but still wants to be NYE ready.
This black blazer is perfection. Believe it or not, I didn’t own a black blazer up until a few weeks ago when this one came into my life. It. Is. Amazing. It’s super sharp and it’s classic and timeless while still being trendy. The gold button button detailing, fabric, and stitched pockets give it that extra style factor that you don’t see on just any black blazer. It’s also a great material – it’s super stretchy and comfy!
Anywho, I thought this blazer was a perfect piece for a sophisticated New Year’s outfit. It’s obviously a great professional piece that can spice up your New Year’s wardrobe and mindset. Sometimes the best thing to level up your game (obviously a hot topic at the start of the new year) is to dress the part! It’s a great piece that you can wear from the office to a NYE party if you need to. It’s professional enough for the office but has enough style that it works anywhere else.
The gold button detailing is easy to play on for some added bling and we all know that bling is perfect for New Year’s. 😉 I decided to wear gold booties and carry a gold clutch to compliment the gold button detailing. Since we’re going for a sophisticated New Year’s outfit I didn’t want to go too crazy with the rest of the look so I simply wore a white turtleneck and black skinny jeans to keep things chic and simple. I did add a bold lipstick and a pair of kick butt but classy statement earrings to complete the look.
What did you guys think of this look? Would you wear it on New Year’s? I’m hoping you guys will say yes so that I can prove Charlie wrong. 😛 Haha. Sometimes it’s nice to be a little unexpected and, funny enough, on New Year’s, the unexpected thing is to dial it back a bit. 🙂 If you want to go for a full blown sparkly NYE outfit, I shared a fun idea for that as well that you can check out here!
