How’s it going friends and fam?! I hope you’ve all been having a great week so far. I’m feeling a bit tired and overwhelmed but Charlie and I are so close to vacation so I’m hangin’ in there! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. 😉 I’ve just been so busy this week trying to get ready for our trip. Tuesday I had a work session at Starbucks with a good friend of mine and that was really great. I love to bury my nose in work, especially with a change of scenery.
Last night was really fun because I got to shoot with a blogger friend of mine (Angela from On to the Next Trend) for the first time. Then, I hosted a spray tan party with my girl Ashlee from Tusks and Tails and Vacay Beauty! It was a ton of fun to hang out with the ladies and learn all about spray tans. I’ve never had a spray tan but over the last couple of years I’ve been a lot better about false tans and protecting my skin. I’ll be sharing a post with you guys in March all about the spray tan process in case you’re a newbie too! Although, I didn’t actually get tanned last night. I’m going on Sunday for my tan so that it’s nice and fresh for vacation. 😉

Tomorrow is the beginning of March and we’re only about 3 weeks away from spring so, I don’t know about you but, I’m officially ready for warm weather. Butttt depending on where you’re at, it’s not actually warm yet so we can’t actually dress for spring yet… no matter how badly we may want to because they’ve been selling bikinis since December 26th even though no one is wearing bikinis in December unless they’re on vacation (*cue the eye roll*).
Aaaanyways, this feels like an appropriate time to begin talking about the winter to spring transition. I’m convinced there are actually six seasons in fashion – winter, winter to spring, spring, summer, summer to fall, fall. No one hops straight from wearing scarves and boots to wearing sandals and linen. You have to slowly shed those layers as the temps rise, ya know?
So how do you transition from winter to spring? Pretty simple: wear spring colors in winter. Note I said “spring colors” and not “spring clothes.” You can wear a pretty lavender, soft yellow, or light pink that’s not a sun dress. This baby blue cardigan is the perfect example of how to wear spring colors in winter. It’s still a cozy item but a light, spring friendly color. Pair your cozy spring colors with lighter tones like whites, creams, beiges, light greys and light wash denim and you’re well on your way to spring. 😉
Y’all know I’m all about some neutrals so this blue cardigan is a little different for me. But I do tend to wear a bit more color in warmer weather so I’m trying to ease out of my comfort zone a bit early. You guys also know I love wearing white pants in the winter and that’s about to be ten fold as we transition into spring. My wardrobe as a whole is about to get much, much lighter and I’m stoked about it!
What are some ways you like to transition from winter to spring? Hope you guys enjoyed this little look! I’ll be sharing some more transitional ideas in the next couple of weeks before we actually find our way to spring. Thanks for stopping by today!
