Happy Thursday, friends! Is everyone having a good week so far? My week has been great! I’m back home in NC for the week and it’s been so nice because after more than a year of living in Philly, I finally made it home for more than 3 days and my only plans were to just visit. I’ve been getting to see all of my NC peeps and it’s been great! I’ve loved hearing about what’s been going on in their livest over the last six months to a year. And I love getting to tell them about mine! I’ve been catching everyone up on the blog, where Charlie and I live, and the wonderful friends I’m finally making in PA. Even though it’s been such a long time since seeing everyone, we manage to pick up right where we left off. I’m bummed Charlie didn’t get to come down, but someone’s gotta hold down the fort up there. Plus, he’s saving his vacation time for a fun fall trip we have planned, so I can’t complain!
Yes… more stripes. I realize I’ve been doing way too much with stripes lately, so I’m going to try to switch it up in the next few posts for you guys! My bad. BUT, if it counts for anything, this is a supper cute striped bell sleeve and off the shoulder top. What I love about this is that it’s a modern take on a classic look. The grey and white stripes are so classic and neutral, but it being off the shoulder and bell sleeved gives it two modern trends without being wild and crazy.
There’s so much you could do with this top (another reason why I love it, of course) but I wanted to keep it fairly casual (because I pretty much always want to keep it fairly casual, haha). So I wore a cute pair of white distressed cut offs with the top. I have this weird thing where I like to balance out the upper and lower half. So I rarely wear a tank top with shorts or a short skirt and I very rarely wear a long sleeve top with pants in the summer. It’s weird… I know. Anyways… I have these adorable grey mules that I just don’t wear enough and they went absolutely perfectly with this outfit! The mule is still casual but the short heel gives it a dose of femininity.
And of course I carried my grey canteen bag because it’s one of my favorite bags that I’ve ever owned and I can’t stop carrying it. I mean… it does go with practically everything. I added some simple silver tassel earrings, a watch, a dainty bracelet, and some classic aviators and was ready to walk out the door! A chic yet casual and classic yet modern look!
