Well hello friends and fam! How is everyone doing on this fine Thursday? I’m feeling a little behind today if I’m being honest. I felt like I didn’t get as much accomplished last week as I would have liked because I felt bad being tucked away in my office all day while my FIL and Charlie were hard at work on house projects. Tuesday was a crazy busy day for me and, I dunno, things just catch up to ya, haha. I got a ton accomplished yesterday though and I’m grinding away at some more work today so it’s all good! 🙂
The obsession with all things striped and button front continue with this pretty striped button front skirt I snagged at LOFT a while back. 🙂 It’s even better because has a cute little tie belt that makes it super flattering! The first time I wore this skirt, I wore it with a white halter top and white shoes, so I wanted to mix it up and bring out the brown tones this go round. I decided to pair it with a sand colored sweater tank which was a nice compliment to the gold buttons and olive stripes. I carried my straw bag because, well, I love that bag, haha. Aaaand I paired my taupe espadrilles with the outfit. The taupe suede pulled in the color of the tank, the gold buckles went well with the gold buttons on the skirt, and the actual espadrille was a great match for the straw bag.
Since the look already had a lot of texture, I decided to keep accessories to a minimum. I wore a dainty gold necklace, my go-to gold boyfriend watch, and a pair of dainty but fun gold hoops (c/o BaubleBar). I love the detailing on the hoops because it gives them a little something extra and makes them the perfect summer accessory. And last but not least, I topped everything off with a bold lip. I’d been on the hunt for the perfect lip color for summer that was bold but not too bright and not too light and I finally found it!
What do you guys think of this little look? I thought it was a fun one! It’s simple and neutral but still has so much dynamic with the straw, sweater, espadrille, suede, stripes, and buttons. It’s always fun to add in a lot of texture when you’re mixing neutrals – it gives something simple a little oomph! Of course, a good lipstick helps with that too. 😉 Thanks for reading today you guys! See ya back here on Sunday!
