What’s goin’ on, ya’ll? Hope everyone’s had a great weekend. Charlie and I went and shot a couple of looks in West Chester yesterday evening and then met up with some friends for dinner. It’s always nice to have a little double date! And the weather was abso-freaking-lutely gorgeous yesterday so it was nice to spend time outside! I’m headed home (to NC) tomorrow for 5 days and I haven’t started packing yet… so you guys already know what I’ll be doing today before going to work. Am I the only person who hates packing? Because I seriously hate it.
BUT I’m stoked off my behind to see family and friends! Charlie and I got to see our immediate family on vacation in June, but it will be nice to see aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends, some of which I haven’t seen since… wait for it… Christmas or before! That’s such a long flippin’ time. Charlie and I really truly love our new home here in PA, but it can be tough to go six or more months without seeing hometown friends and family.
When this striped slip dress first appeared at Banana Republic, I felt like it was meant for me. But, I won’t lie, it was a bit out of my price range. Then it went on sale… and then there was a sale on top of the sale. And all of the stars aligned and we finally got to be together-guilt free. (Hint hint, the dress is on sale ;)).
I for real love this dress, though! It’s so crisp! This was another one of those times where I wanted to let the dress do the talking. So to keep the look clean and tidy, I wore simple taupe mules (these go with everything!), my grey circle bag (go figure-I love this thing), and some simple gold jewelry. I know I usually go more in depth and explain why I wore what I wore, but there’s really not much more to say here because sometimes the essentials are enough (hence why they’re called essentials, I suppose, haha).
How else would you style the dress? I’m clearly stuck on keeping it simple but I know you could do something fun with it! I did throw my green utility vest over it to wear to work one day, so that was a little different!
