Happy Labor Day everybody! I hope everyone is able to enjoy some extra time off from work today. If the weather holds up, Charlie and I will be headed out for a day of hiking and chasing waterfalls. Otherwise, I’m thinking a lazy day is in store for us. BUT, as you probably know, Labor Day falls on the first Monday of September. Aaaand you know what happens on the first Monday of every month over here on The Savvy Camel… I feature a new Style Crush! 🙂 I’m super excited for this month’s style crush because it’s giving me the opportunity to sprinkle in some more men’s fashion on the blog. I have to be honest and say, I don’t think a ton of men read my blog (hah!) but I know there are plenty of you lovely ladies out there know a man that you do some shopping for. 😉 The fella that I’m sharing with you today actually runs his own site and YouTube channel where he gives super in depth, practical, and easy to follow pointers that not only help men dress better, but also feel good about how they’re dressed. So, I’d like to introduce you all to my September Style Crush…
I love Khoi’s minimal, simple, and monochromatic style. It’s super practical, versatile, and timeless – all words that you guys know I live by when it comes to building the majority of your wardrobe. Khoi and I definitely share some philosophies when it comes to style in that we both believe you don’t always need a lot in order to look stylish.
I preach basics and classics for the ladies while Khoi preaches fit for the fellas. And let me tell ya, having spent some time working in men’s fashion, I couldn’t agree more. When it comes to men’s fashion, it is all about the fit. Khoi says you can have a casual, smart, great looking outfit with a few simple basics as long as the fit is taken care of. Where was he to tell my customers this when I worked at Nordstrom?! Haha.
Khoi definitely practices what he preaches. His outfit is fitted perfectly. Nothing’s too baggy and nothing’s too slim. And when it comes to men’s fashion, making sure things fit properly is half the battle and, because everything fit’s him so well, his basic and classic pieces look insanely stylish!
Another thing that Khoi does really well is details. I know a lot of men out there are afraid to “accessorize,” but don’t let the word scare you. If you follow Khoi’s lead, you’re gonna look like a pro. Just like in women’s fashion, adding details to an outfit can elevate the look ten fold. And, once again, you don’t have to go crazy with it. Khoi added a simple and sleek belt that’s complimented perfectly by his wrist watch. And a good pair of shades is just an added bonus. Again, he kept it minimal but it made all the difference.
So there ya have it, ladies and gents! Some simple men’s fashion and style tips that you or your designated male friend, partner, or family member can apply at home! If you’re looking for some good tips for men’s style, ya gotta check Khoi out over on Gentleman Within. Also be sure to check out his YouTube channel (I need YouTube lessons from him, hehe) and connect with him on Instagram and Facebook (he also has a private community you can join on Facebook as well).
I hope you guys enjoyed this month’s style crush as much as I did! Khoi’s killin’ it in the men’s style game. Thanks so much to Khoi for taking the time to shoot and collaborate with me for my Style Crush series! And, of course, thanks to my always helpful and ever talented husband for the awesome photos. 🙂
