Hey hey and happy Thursday gang! I hope you all are having a wonderful week and are oh so thrilled that it’s officially spring! It doesn’t really feel like spring where I’m at (read: rainy and temps in the mid 40s) but I’m holding onto the hope that eventually we will get there! Obviously I know that the climate is different here in Pennsylvania than it is back home in NC, but it seems to hit me harder each year that I’m up here. Winter just seems to go on for forever up here! I feel like the first day of spring in NC was always exciting because (usually) it actually felt like spring but, here in PA it’s like… oh it’s the “first day of spring” which means it’s basically “still winter for another 2-4 weeks but at least we know we’re close now.” Haha!

We’re hardcore diving into some spring styles now, folks! Here is a fun little outfit that I wore on vacation earlier this month that has spring written all over it. Prim and Pop sent me the cutest little mini skirt to take on our cruise and I absolutely love it for spring and summer! Which, before we go any deeper, Prim and Pop is offering you guys 20% OFF YOUR PURACHSE and FREE SHIPPING with the code ALLISON20!
First, let me start by saying that I’m super picky about mini skirts! 1) I don’t want to look trashy with my bum hanging out and 2) I don’t want it to be too flowy because if wind gets up under that thing, the world’s going to get a show that I wasn’t willing to give. So this mini skirt is perfect because it’s not too mini and it’s also fitted so you know everything is covered and is not get to be exposed in a Marilyn Monroe moment. 😉
That said, let’s dive into how I styled it! Since we’re not trying to skip straight to summer, I styled it with a light weight spring sweater layered over a pretty white bralette. I went for a beige sweater to keep things from being really bright. I complimented the sweater with a pair of woven beige mules and a woven crossbody bag. And I really “vacationed” up the look with a pair of bold summery tassel earrings!
As I start sharing vacation looks with you, I also want to share a couple ways that I mixed and matched items in order to avoid overpacking for our trip as well as to show you guys some alternatives to styling certain pieces! So here are two really lousy quality photos (sorry!) of other ways that I styled the sweater and skirt. I dressed the skirt up for dinner one night with a white off the shoulder top, white block heels, and a straw hand bag. For lunch one day, I tossed the sweater on with a pair of cut offs, the same mules and a pair of shades.
What did you guys think of this little mini skirt? It’s so perfect for spring because it pairs really well with sweaters and mules but will also be great in the summer with a tank top and some espadrilles! I hope you enjoyed the look and can’t wait for the next couple of posts! 🙂
