Today I’m doing something a little different from a typical Thursday post. I did a “one thing styled three ways” post a while back and you guys seemed to really like it, plus you’ve told me in two different surveys that you’d like to see more of styling one item in different ways, so I’m going to start doing more of that starting today! I want to try to think of practical things that every lady would be interested in having in their closet, so today, I’m going to show you 3 different ways to wear sneakers for sightseeing.
Obviously you can wear these sneaker outfits other places, like just a weekend day in your local city, but I used to struggle with wanting to be comfortable and stylish when I knew I was going to be walking around all day and I just didn’t quite know how to style sneakers in a fashionable way. But I’ve played around and gotten much better at it over the last couple of years so I thought I would give you some of my tips and show you a few different ways to style sneakers!
I think the main thing is finding the right sneaker for you. That may sound simple, but I would always see bloggers and influencers wearing black Nikes with skinny jeans looking super cute. But that just didn’t work for me. I didn’t have the right pieces to pair with them. So now I let my black Nikes do what they do best… the gym. 🙂 Instead, I invested in a pair of fashion sneakers (holla for Adidas Superstars!). They’re still just as comfortable but they’re easier for me to work with so I have so much more versatility with my outfits. I wouldn’t necessarily say you can dress sneakers up, but you can definitely style them in a way that looks super stylish and not at all like you’re in an athleisure. (Although I do love me some good athleisure too.)
Look Number One
For this first look, I went with stark tones. I knew I wanted to wear the black leather jacket with the sneakers to give the look a little bit of edge, so I paired it with black ripped knee skinny jeans. I wore the blue and white striped button down to pull the white from the sneakers into the look and to give it a splash of color.
Look Number Two
Wanted to go a little more unexpected for this second look by adding the fur vest. You can never go wrong with black skinny jeans and a chambray shirt (which look great on their own with the sneakers) but the vest gives the look some added oomph! The taupe backpack and leather watch help pull all of the tones together and keep the vest feeling casual enough to make sense with the outfit.
Look Number Three
This was my favorite of the three outfits. It’s still a warm enough outfit for early and chilly spring days with the puffer vest, but the white vest and pink top lighten the outfit up. This is definitely the most casual of the three looks so it would be great for heavy travel days.
Alrighty, I sure hope you guys enjoyed this post and got a little sneaker inspo, hehe. Which look was your favorite? And are there any particular items you’d like to see my style in multiple ways? Let me know your thoughts in the comments! Much love to you guys!
