Hi friends! What’s everyone been up to this weekend? My mom and my nephew are visiting us from NC. We’ve been in NY yesterday and today! The weather’s been a bit hot which is kind of a bummer, but we’ve had a great time nonetheless. We’ve been total tourists, but it’s been a ton of fun because it’s my nephew’s first time to NYC so we’ve loved seeing all the must-sees with him. Yesterday we went to the Empire State Building, Times Square, had some New York pizza (duh), and went to see the Lion King on Broadway! Today we’re headed to the Statue of Liberty (that’s actually going to be a new one for me!) and Central Park before heading home! What are some of your favorite must-sees and dos in New York?!
Since we’re in New York right now, I thought it would be fitting to share this look that that I wore for my birthday date night with Charlie a few weeks ago in NY. I wore this outfit to dinner and then to see Chicago, so it’s a great idea of what to wear for a night on the town. When you’re headed out for a date, a night with the girls, or whatever… when in doubt, black out. You can never go wrong with a good all black ensemble. It’s chic, sexy, and timeless.
I went for a flowy off the shoulder top for a sexy, feminine, and trendy feel. I paired it with some black skinny jeans with light rips in the knees and a good pair of strappy heels. These are super comfortable heels! I walked at least a mile in them and was totally fine. But, if you’re worried about your feet (which is a totally respectable concern) you could always go for a sleek, black d’orsay flat. It’s always fun to spice up an all black outfit with some bold accessories. I went with a leopard clutch and gold tassel earrings!
Anyone else love a good black outfit when all else fails? What other ways do you like to dress up for a night on the town? Also… am I a total granny for saying “night on the town?” Honest answers only. Anyways, have a great rest of your weekend! Thanks for reading and much love to ya all!
