Happy happy Sunday everyone! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend so far. We soaked up the last few minutes with my father-in-law and are just spending the rest of the day gearing up for the week ahead. We got so much done while he was here and I feel pretty guilty sending him off on a long car ride home because he worked hard while he was here. He’s so good to me and Charlie, though! 🙂 Meanwhile the two of us are just quietly catching up on a few things around here and resting as best as we can. Anyone else love Sundays and just trying to clear your head and feel rested?
I’m super excited to have the opportunity to partner up with Joyfolie, which is a super cute brand that has a polished boho feel. They’re sold in tons of boutiques, they’ve been in Anthro, Saks – all kinds of awesome retailers! When I was going through all of their pieces, I saw this white tie front crop top and thought it was the freakin’ cutest! I love all of the little details – from the ruffled sleeves, to the key hole, to the tie! But I was a little nervous to try it because I’ve actually never worn a true crop top. I’m just always a little a shy about how much skin I show for some reason.
BUT I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and give this super cute crop top a try! If you’re like me and haven’t worn a crop top because you don’t like too much skin showing all at once, try styling it with a pair of pants. Obviously pants are going to offer you more coverage than a pair of booty shorts. If you’re still worried about (like I was – don’t worry, I feel you), wear a pair of loose fitting pants. Loose fitting pants will keep you from feeling like your clothes are skin tight on top of showing your belly off.
So, now that we’re feeling little more comfortable with our skin bearing over here, let’s style the rest of the outfit! This crop top was super fun and easy going so I decided to keep the look as such. I wore my favorite straw boater hat and carried a cute straw bag. I love to mix black and brown, so I decided to do that with this look since the hat tied in well with the outfit because of the black ribbon on the brim. The brown tones in the hat and the brown in the sole of the black wedges help pull the bag into the look since it doesn’t have any black on it.
What about you? Are you brave and already rock crop tops on the regular? I only have one other crop top and it’s super flowy and juuuust long enough that if I wear it with high waisted pants, my belly doesn’t show. So that doesn’t really count, hahah. 🙂 Hope you enjoyed
