Growing up, Christmas was the absolute happiest time of year. To this day, my mom makes Christmas so magical and loving. She transforms her entire house into Santa’s workshop. Guys, I mean, she changes out the soap dispensers and rugs—it’s no joke. Things don’t get that intense in the Hodges house, but I undoubtedly get my love for Christmas from my sweet Momma!
This year, Charlie and I revamped our tree into this beautiful winter wonderland Christmas tree. We recently moved into an apartment, so we thought it would be best to invest in a good quality artificial tree rather than drag a live tree all the way through the building, ha! I’m head over heels for this gorgeous frosted tree that we got on crazy good sale at Frontgate! It’s effortlessly chic and has so much character.
The trick to giving your tree a wow factor is making sure that it has texture and dimension. Use a variety of shapes, sizes, and textures. Tree picks are an easy way to add texture, and the tree picks that I used from Pier 1 have got to be my all time favorite! I also love the poinsettia clips and faux fur ball ornaments that I found at Pier 1 (Pier 1 stole my heart this year, guys). And I died when I found the precious mushroom ornaments at Anthropologie!
I always recommend adding your garland (I just used pretty silver ribbon that I picked up at Michael’s) and your biggest ornaments first. Make sure everything is spread out and then fill in the empty spaces with your traditional ball ornaments. Add a sentimental tree topper (ours is one that Charlie got when he worked for Disney) and a fabulous tree skirt, like this faux fur one from Target, and your Christmas tree will be so lush and stylish!
