Hey hey lovely people! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend so far! I had a what felt like a never ending week (not at all in a bad way!) so Charlie and I spent part of the weekend rejuvenating and the other part catching up on and getting ahead of some of our work. We’re heading out of town soon and are committed to fully unplugging and enjoying some quiet and truly restful time together so we’re hustling to make that happen. 🙂
A month or so ago I did a bit of a purge with my workout clothes. So many of them were just dingy and worn out. So naturally I had to get a few new things to replace the old. 😉 I snagged these leggings from Gap (Gapfit is one of my favorite brands for workout clothes – that and Zella) and I loved them. I figured between how much I loved the leggings and how often I’m actually wearing clothes like these (a good 85% of the time) that I would share some of the ways that I make my workout clothes look cute enough to wear out and about. 😛
Coordinate Through Mix and Match Pieces
One really easy way to amp up your workout clothes so that you can swing by the grocery store after you hit the gym without feeling like a sweaty slob is to coordinate through mix and match pieces. Color blocking is a fantastic way to do this. Take the color block leggings I’m wearing, for example: I paired them with a white top but I could also wear a beige or black top and look just as put together!
Add a Stylish Layer
Adding a stylish layer makes any outfit look more elevated and that goes for your workout wear as well. Layering is another great way to make your workout clothes look a little more athelisurey and errand appropriate. I went for a black puffer vest with my look but you could also throw on a sleek quarter zip or even a sporty looking parka.
Top it off with a Cute Hat
The last way you can elevate your workout outfit is with a cute hat. You can wear a beanie when it’s cold out, a fun baseball hat like I’m wearing (gotta represent the hometown, ya know?!) or even a dry fit hat that you can wear during your workout!
I kid you not when I say 85% I’m wearing clothes like this. It’s so different working from home and not having a need to do your hair and makeup everyday. It feels way easier to throw on some workout clothes or athleisure to just run to the grocery store or post office rather than a full blown outfit with all of the bells and whistles. Are you a workout clothes lover too? What are some ways you make your workout clothes look cute for running errands?
Thanks so much for reading today, friends and fam! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and I’ll catcha next time! 🙂
